I was saddened to hear that the NAU Chapter of Tau Beta Pi (Engineering Honor Society) died in 2015 and was revived in 2016. I remember joining during the Spring semester of my senior year, having rejected several offers to join sooner. Now that I have graduated and have a family of my own, I wish I had been more involved in TBP when I was at NAU, but am proud to be able to tell my family that I was a member when in school! Unfortunately, there isn’t a website for AZG, but there is contact info for officers located in the website above.
AZG will be hosting this year’s District Convention on April 6th in Flagstaff.
Oumuamua:
A few articles about Oumuamua, the “Interstellar Cigar”:
Distance: 320,541,600 mi from Earth (disclaimer: these are my personal calculations, and may be off)
(For reference: Mars is 141,600,000 miles, Jupiter is between 365,000,000 and 601,000,000 miles from Earth)

Had to put this one on here, and it is loosely tied to NAU as there is a quote from Faith Walker, a genetics research professor at NAU. #NAUStrong

Update: Coach Sours apparently will be staying in the wake of Lisa Campos accepting the Athletic Director position at UT San Antonio.
NAU Head football coach Jerome Sours is retiring after the end of this
season. The announcement was made on Tuesday to ensure that the university
and the community had an opportunity the thank coach Sours over the
remainder of the season. Coach Sours is the winningest coach in Big Sky
history (118 wins (81 Conf. wins) and counting). I remember playing
football in Arizona in the late 90’s and Coach Sours visiting our
practice. We didn’t talk or anything, but when I saw this article it did
remind me of that time and how, for most recent NAU grads, they’ve never
known an NAU football program without Coach Sours. We wish you the best
Coach, and thank you for all the great memories you’ve given us. You truly
are a Lumberjack Legend!
Well, that was embarrassing. The Jacks laid an egg in the Skydome in the playoffs, losing to the University of San Diego 10-41. Obviously not the way you want to end a season, but that’s just what happened. Thank you, Jacks for a great season! Go Jacks!!!
