Happy Thanksgiving to everyone out there! Hope y’all have “a Thanksgiving dinner that couldn’t be beat”!
This article discusses Neuroscience of Compassion Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program. Sponsored by Northern Arizona University’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and Department of Psychological Sciences.
This article was just too cool to pass up, even though it isn’t NAU related. It talks about the first observed interstellar asteroid.
Off Campus Life:
Time to hit the slopes! Snow Bowl is open (just make sure you don’t eat the snow, yellow or white)!
If you’re away from Flagstaff (like yours truly) take a look at the above
article. You can find NAU Football and Basketball games for free with the
TuneIn app. Go Jacks!!!
Football (7-4, 6-2):
Update: Coach Sours apparently will be staying in the wake of Lisa Campos accepting the Athletic Director position at UT San Antonio.
NAU Head football coach Jerome Sours is retiring after the end of this
season. The announcement was made on Tuesday to ensure that the university
and the community had an opportunity the thank coach Sours over the
remainder of the season. Coach Sours is the winningest coach in Big Sky
history (118 wins (81 Conf. wins) and counting). I remember playing
football in Arizona in the late 90’s and Coach Sours visiting our
practice. We didn’t talk or anything, but when I saw this article it did
remind me of that time and how, for most recent NAU grads, they’ve never
known an NAU football program without Coach Sours. We wish you the best
Coach, and thank you for all the great memories you’ve given us. You truly
are a Lumberjack Legend!
2 days until NAU take on University of San Diego in Flagstaff in the 2017 NCAA FCS Playoffs! Go Jacks!!!
