This USAToday article describes scientists’ latest discovery of a “Jumbo Earth (named LHS 1140b)”, a mere 39 light years away.  Astronomers  (none from NAU) believe they will be able to detect Oxygen and other elements essential to life as we know it.

Spring Sports Season:

Tennis (Men) 15-7 (10-1):  The Jacks closed out the season strong (and in 1st place in the Big Sky).  Next, they’ll try to continue their dominance in the post season at the Big Sky Championships. #GoJacks  #NAUStrong

Tennis (Women) 16-4 (10-0): The Lady Jacks have their Conference winning streak (currently at 10) still going.  Up next, they’ll take on Weber State and then try to keep t going in the Big Sky Championships.  #GoJacks  #NAUStrong

Track and Field:  Still need to figure out a good way to display Track and Field results.  Up next, the Cardinal Classic in Palo Alto, CA starting on the 21st.  #GoJacks  #NAUStrong

Golf:  The Jacks will play in the Big Sky Championships April 21-23.  #GoJacks  #NAUStrong
Fall Sports Season:
Football:  The Jacks will hold their annual Blue-Gold Spring Game this Saturday at 2PM at the Skydome….football season is getting closer!  #GoJacks #NAUStrong

Winter Sports Season:

The Lady Jacks Basketball team has a new coach.  Loree Payne has been named the 12th Women’s Head Basketball Coach for NAU.  Congratulations Coach Payne, and we all wish you much success!


Congratulations to Patrick Baldenegro (Sr. Football) and Rene Coggins (Sr. Basketball) for winning the 2017 (and 39th Annual) Golden Eagle Scholar Athletes of the Year.  Way to go Jacks!

Swimming and Diving – Kurach – 49th at NCAA Championships

Fall Sports Season:

Football – 5-6 (4-6)

Soccer – 10-7-5 (5-2-3) 2nd Big Sky

Volleyball – 24-8 (12-4)  2nd Big Sky

Cross Country (Men’s) – NCAA National Champions!

Cross Country (Women’s) – 1st in Big Sky
